Anyone know why the scheduled release date has slipped and no news on when it will come out?

Can't help there. I'm rather anxious to find out as I pre-ordered a copy back in May against an end of June release.

As a long shot I'm going to e-mail a mate and see if he can throw any light on it

Amazon announced it for June. I have it on order with them. I had an e-mail this week to say it's 'Delayed' but nothing more..................

Thanks, I had tried searching for just Odette and I now see that it is in there but buried away on page 3. If you search for Odette Anna Neagle then it finds it much better.

I've put it on the "Maybe, sometime" wish list which already has on it the DVD of 3 episodes of the American TV series Espionage directed by Michael Powell. That was meant to have been released in March but there's no sign of it yet.

If anyone does manage to do a DVD release they'd do well to include the interview with Odette herself that I think are held by the Imperial War Museum. She really was an amazing lady.

The most incredible thing is that she genuinely bore no hatred to those that had tortured her. She realised that hating them wouldn't hurt them (most of them are dead anyway) and that it would just eat away at her. She couldn't bring herself to do the genuinely Christian thing (she was an enthusiastic Christian) and forgive them, but she didn't hate them.

But she tells in a matter of fact way how the mistake they made when they tortured her was to let her see a tree out of the window so she could focus on the real world outside. And then being locked in solitary confinement at Ravensbrück, in the dark most of the time, wasn't a great problem because she had been blind for a few months as a child
