Now that these exciting new DVD titles are available for sale does it make it any more likely that we will get to see those films/classics again on television?
Does it follow that released DVD titles such as 'A Home Of Your Own' are made more accessible to the television networks by the distributors?
Has anyone ever researched to see if this is the case?

Cheers

Dave.

The Quare Fellow

Odd Man Out (Special Edition)

August sees issues of The Old Dark House and The Importance of Being Earnest
but I am unsure of versions.

The Frank Randle comedy It's a Great Day (1956) and Double Bunk (1961) starring Janette Scott and Ian Carmichael are also due out in August. Erik the Viking, A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square, A Man of No Importance (Albert Finney) and Carry on Columbus (a film of no importance, some would say) also see releases on DVD.

"The Frank Randle comedy It's a Great Day (1956) ..................." (snipped)

Query here, surely this film is based on TVs 'The Grove Family' and is without Randle.

The Randle film from 1953 is 'It's A Grand Life'. Could it be this one and I hope it is. Made in Manchester and there aren't many of those about!

THE CARD on DVD? You've made my year, James Any more details, will there be any special features?

See my avatar for an example of how gorgeous young Petula Clark was in the film ;)

A commentary with Ronald Neame and Oswald Morris would be nice, or Glynis Johns and Petula Clark but I cannot see DD arranging that somehow.

Do DD not usually have special features then?

I agree that it would be good to make use of those guys while they're still with us!
