Re: Sink the Bismark I thought Esmond Knight played the old man of the Hood and his last words were "That was a bit close" as a shell went over.
If not I stand corrected.

You stand corrected. The captain of the Hood was played by John Stuart. Esmond Knight played the skipper of the Prince of Wales, the ship he actually served on as a young gunnery officer (anti-aircraft)

Good to see SUSPECT and TWISTED NERVE particularly.

Nice to see Crucible of Terror getting a release. It's a terrible load of old codswallop, but fun for us fans of 70s brit-horror. The last time BBC showed it it was cut and from a terribly murky, blurry print.

Gold is 4:3 and very cheap so I doubt an upgrade will be made.

Don't build up your hopes with Target for Tonight. I've already got this disc and it's just a series of documentaries about the Allied bombing effort, not the classic Harry Watt film of a Wellington (F for Freddie) raid on an oil storage depot. A disappointment.

BargainFlix announced that April 17th hit a new milestone in Region-1 DVD Title Release counts. 482 titles were released on that Tuesday alone.

That's a LOT of DVD-trees chopped down, and they still managed to miss the 70- or 80 titles I really need!

(OK OK, you can stop laughing now.)

Great caper movie out 11th June from NETWORK Ian McShane in "THE GREAT RIVIERA BANK ROBBERY" 1979 also known as "DIRTY MONEY" and "SEWERS OF GOLD". Up there with "LOOPHOLE" and "PRIZE OF ARMS". Hope its not another "GHOST SQUAD" which gets held back (something to do with extras they say) or the second series of "HAZELL" which just never appeared.

I have tried and tried to resist U-of-C's taunts of Dirk Bogarde, to avoid starting a collection of his. These boxsets make it SO difficult - it's so easy to do, uh, 'research' on an actor when they box up so many good films-!

Now, this PRIZE OF ARMS becomes available, and Hackett rubs salt in my caper-noir wounds with yet another title. When will my collection EVER be complete?!!
