amazon e-mailed me to say that that their supplier informs them that the item is discontinued and no longer available! no info on the BBC shop website anymore either! they must have needed the discs for a release of 'eastenders go dancing on ice'!

i'm going to write my own hardy-esque novel about the constant disappointment of dvd release cancellations called 'jude of the obscure tv show company blows her own trumpet major far from the madding release'!

Oh this is so annoying! I imagine it is a rights problem - does anyone know for sure? Infuriating when you consider that most episodes were considered lost for many years and only recently announced as being recovered.

i can't see it being a rights issue as it was going to be a BBC release as far as i was aware? i'm so p****d off about this one!

amazon have again e-mailed me-this time to tell me that the original e-mail described above was 'a mistake' and that 'wessex tales' has been put back into my account for pre order!! amazon do seem to be making quite a few errors recently-i wonder if they're drunk??

Noticed yesterday this has disappeared from BBC Shop although Play still listed it as out in October. Oh well - no Hardy fest for us then.

this has been re-listed on bbc shop for a release on 12/4/2010
and also for 11/1/2010 on play.com for pre-order so fingers crossed!

Good news, this has had clearance at the BBFC, so hopefully the release will now become a reality

well,it's scheduled on two sites for a release on 11/4/10 so all we need now is the artwork to appear now!
