Just read that the BBC are finally releasing the early 70's series Wessex Tales six tales adapted from Thomas Hardy short stories ( release date 3rd August )

i'd love to know what other gems are gathering dust in the bbc crypt? i reckon they've got the entire 'dead of night' series after watching the crystal clear quality showing of 'the exocism' on bbc4 eighteen months ago!

i've only seen 'the withered arm' which does include a sort of faith healer/white witch type bloke but it wasn't keith barron (thank god!) i've no idea whether he's in any of the other episodes?

JUst checked imdb and you'll be pleased to know that Wessex Tales doesn't figure among Mr Barron's credits

amazon e-mailed me to say that the expected despatch date is now12 august-19th august,bbc shop say 'out of stock' -i hope whoever's responsible for the delay wakes up with a 'withered arm'!

Ah ! that probably explains why Amazon are showing a 6-11 day dispatch time, fingers crossed it shows up before October.
