For those of you who don't know, Regan (The Sweeney Pilot Movie) - the best series ever made by British Television will be available on DVD from September 12th. Old VHS copies regularly go for some fairly serious money on Ebay. So do yourself a favour my old son - buy it or shut it!!!!

Time to keep your appointment with the Wicker Man...

I see there's two versions available. Unfortunately some releases and indeed repeats (such as the one shown on "TV Heaven 1974"), were minus Thames idents and break captions, ("REGAN" zooming in, white on a blue background with "End of Part One" etc below, rather like "The Sweeney" series).

There's a good chance they may be intact on the Network version, although this is no guarantee. Does anyone know?

The Network edition I have has all the ad break captions intact.

Great to hear of that Batman. Cheers!

Incidentally a version released by "Digital Entertainment", which omits the breaks and any other Thames identification, looks to be converted from its original 4:3 aspect ratio into 16:9 WIDESCREEN!
