A Kind of Loving - 1982 TV Series
I have just started watching Network's DVD release of A Kind of Loving from 1982 (which I remember from the first time round). It's funny how these videotaped dramas / adaptations of the past were never ambitiously directed, lacked grandiose pictorial values (largely studio bound), and weren't afraid to stretch over 10+ hours (and possibly lose viewers attentions over a two month period - which clearly wasn't a problem in the past). And yet I find this approach so much more compulsive than anything that is produced today. Long may Network mine the archives!
