Kind Hearts and Coronets Now Two Discs

Our upcoming release of Ealing Studios’ sublime black comedy Kind Hearts and Coronets is now a double-disc set. Along with a new, restored digital transfer of the film, this special edition package will include a feature-length BBC documentary on the history of Ealing and a rare, 70-minute talk show appearance by star Alec Guinness, from 1977. Fantastic stuff!! This is one of my all time favourites. Simply superb! I've already got it on DVD but I reckon I'll go for it again for the extras and the new transfer....

It's a shame that the extras don't give Dennis Price his due. His performance is one of the true classics of cinema.

I couldn't agree more - Dennis Price seems to be ignored in peoples appraisal of this classic, he was a true original, and despite his personal difficulties throughout his life, turned in some classic performances. Always a joy to watch

It's not yet available at Amazon.com in NTSC format but is on order for $29.95 (a $10 savings from $39.95). I had looked at the IMDb and on DVD details it did not give the Criterion set as one of the them and from your information it's already available in the UK. Since it's an Amazon.com owned site, the least they could do is keep the DVD details current although I realize with all the movies out there it's probably asking a lot.

Although there is a way to see if more selections of a title are available. On IMDb go by way of the artist's name and one the sidebar look at Titles for sale. Still not exhaustive (I certainly ask a lot don't I LOL) but better.

The IMDb DVD area is severely backlogged. They've recently done a major project putting up full episode support on TV series (it's good, but will take a while to bed down properly). That project led to big backlogs in a few areas. They've cleared a few of the and are now working hard to clear the rest. But they've said that DVD details is about the lowest priority.

As you say, every person (and every title) has a link to the various Amazon stores where there are DVDs or videos for sale so really IMDb are leaving it up to Amazon to add the full details of any new DVDs.

Something strange about the IMDb is that on an artist's page there is a symbol to click on that leads to Amazon links to all the films they were involved with. I would imagine this list is devised using automatic software but occassionally you can click on the IMDb pages in that list and find Amazon links to those titles that did not appear before.

These lists used to contain the associate IMSb link but now you have to go back and look for the link in the list.

It is good that you can now see what tv episodes people directed or appeared in quite clearly. I would prefer this list to be separate but I am getting used to it.

It doesn't list all the titles they were involved in, that would need a separate link for each title and the person's page would soon get overcrowded.

But taking Dennistoun Franklyn John Rose-Price as an example. When you go to that page, there's an Amazon box in the top right, with the title SHOP. Click on the icons for DVD or VHS (or even CD) and you'll be taken to another page on the IMDb which lists all the titles that are available for sale in the various Amazon shops.
