I hoped this was going to about some new MR film releases

Charles Tingwell had a guest role in Neighbours some months ago (he played Lynn Slurry's dad) so he is still at it, not that I watch the programme of course I just happened to be watching when he appeared

theres not a lot of good releases, only the obvious films....ther must be hundreds of great british films tucked away in some dusty cupboards crying out to be released...to be cherished by british film fans like us.....so we have to make do with the afternoon matinees which are always half way through by the time i get home from work.........still havent mastered the video yet let alone the dvd

He is apparently still alive, living back in Australia and still working! I sent an e-mail to the address given as his agents to ask if he could recall any of the locations used in the Miss Marple films (as per another thread started by Ady) but haven't had a reply yet.

They must be experiencing difficulties getting her blithe spirit to register on film.

Default Margaret Rutherford

Great Character actress, Mrs Fazackerly the cashier in The Smallest Show On Earth, brilliant, I was watching a programme I recorded some time ago entitled AN EVENING WITH MARGARET RUTHERFORD, and it supposed that she returned to earth for just this one evening to explain to her fans certain aspects of her life which I for one did know about, during the proceedings this voice from the Gods boomed out periodically to prompt her not to deviate from the given conversation.
It starred Timothy Spall who made a marvellous Margaret, and Simon Ward as Stringer Davis. EXCELLENT !

Default £14.99

We got the boxed set of Marple for under £15 from HMV before last xmas. They were running an offer. Might be worth having a look to see if they are going to run the offer again?

I bid £16 for the box set on e bay Friday, and then noticed that it is available at HMV for £12.99 delivered. Thankfully I was soon out bid on e bay the final bid being £35. £12.99 delivered an outstanding bargain to see Margaret,Stringer and everybody again.

Default More Margaret Rutherfield

Hello,

New member, so apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere but...

Miss Robin Hood - a classic film from 1952 with Richard Hearne, Sid James and Reg Varney - now available from HMV £7.99 and elsewhere.

Part of a series of "long lost comedy classics" releases.

regards

ianjh
