These films do not come out until next Monday so it might be worth bumping the thread next week. DVD Forums usually review such discs.

I'v seen "I WAS MONTY'S DOUBLE" 1958 and "THE SILENT ENEMY" 1958 both shown on C4 in widescreen 1:66. Both the DVD's like "THE WOODEN HORSE" 1950 are full screen 4:3 which is a real pain. Call me Mr. Cynical but are they doing a NETWORK. Like with "THE LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN" 1959. This is now on its 3rd release. A new special with commentary by Mr & Mrs Bryan Forbes. They started with a 4:3 release on DVD then progressed to widescreen and now, well, it just makes me mad.

I forgot the 'War Box' sets were released in November with these films.

Hackett, The Wooden Horse would be a pain if it wasn't full screen as the 4:3 ratio is its original aspect ratio. Remember widescreen did not come along until 1953.

I Was Monty's Double was widescreen, avoid the dinosaur DVD like the plague in that case.
