Default If... on DVD at last!!

Amazon have If... listed for release on 11 June, no mention of extras yet. This is a Paramount release but there are reports of a Criterion edition. Anyone with more info?

Default IF Parallel

I was at a school similar to the school in IF when the movie was released. There had been a great deal of unrest at my school in terms of anger and reaction against the Vietnam war and anger and reaction against the treatment of younger boys by older boys (fascist like punishment regimes), the treatment of pupils by teachers etc etc. I myself was one of a number of rebels forced against our wills to participate in armed forces drills etc.. IF was released towards the end of a tense and difficult term and we (sixth formers) had asked permission to go to the cinema to see the film. The powers that be were quite scared and did not want us to see the film for fear of a backlash. However, they decided that letting us see the film was the lesser of two evils and hoped that we would burn out in the last few days of term without serious action. Rarely has a film so closely mirrored and influenced my own life.

I asked him to look at the body. That's who he is.

As well as a R2 Paramount edition Criterion are releasing a R1 with the following spec. Pity there is no mention of The White Bus on either release:

and actor Malcolm McDowell

A 2003 episode from the Scottish TV series Cast and Crew about

assistant Stephen Frears, producer Michael Medwin, and screenwriter
David Sherwin

Thursday's Children (1955), Anderson's Academy Award–winning
breakthrough documentary about a school for deaf children, co-
directed by Guy Brenton and narrated by Richard Burton

New video interview with actor Graham Crowden

Original theatrical trailers

PLUS: A booklet featuring pieces by critic David Ehrenstein,
screenwriter David Sherwin, and director Lindsay Anderson

And how good would it be if it also contained the BBC documentary 'About The White Bus' (which features a great trailer for the unfinished 'Red, White and Zero' film)? We can but dream...

Exclamation "IF" Out On DVD!

One of the best british films of all time is being released on DVD for the first time! (23rd of July - I think)

For those of you who havent seen "IF" it's a major award-winning British tale of rebellion and revolution.

It stars a young Malcolm MacDowell who stared in the Clockwork Orange

And no the US Criterion version is not better that the UK one I have researched it, the UK release is better as it features a screen play narrated by MALCOLM MACDOWELL

Come one "IF"!
