Default Mutiny on the Bounty (1962) SE

JUne release for the 1962 release of "Mutiny on the Bounty", starring Marlon Brando and Trevor Howard, and many more.
New digital teansfer from Ulta- Panavision 65mm elements, 5:1 sound.

Special features:-

1) Alternate prologue and epilogue sequences, not seen theatrically.

2) 1964 World's Fair promo. Vintage featurette.

3) Story of the H.M.S. Bounty, original featurette.

Disc 2:-

1) After the Cameras Stopped Rolling. New featurette.

2) Two vintage featurettes; Voyage of the Bounty to St Petersburg , and Tour of the Bounty.

At last ..... this unjustly derided film gets the DVD treatment it deserves .... there goes another £15 !!!

Yes, far superior to the Mel Gibson/Anthony Hopkins version many years later! In this (1962) version, you REALLY hate Capt. Bligh - a tribute to the great Trevor Howard's acting! Also, I think it may have been more accurate historically, but Bligh's incredible feat of seamanship (accurately piloting a small boat over 3000 miles with just a sextant under intolerable conditions) was not given the credit it deserved.

I'm wondering if the new DVD will make it to the USA??

Bligh was a good seaman - but a rotten Captain and leader. He was later appointed Governor of New South Wales and he had another mutiny on his hands there.
