Just taken delivery of the new Studio Canal George Formby box set, and on checking the disc of "Turned out nice again" I found that that the sound track is out of sync with the picture for the whole film by about two seconds, has anyone else noticed similar, or have I got a rogue disc? On the plus side the other films have been transferred nicely, including the original BBFC intro to "No Limit".

    Best wishes

I read in another DVD forum (can't remember where right now) that this set has problems - the out of sync sound you mentioned, and apparently one of the DVDs stops before the finish if the film itself! Studio Canal/Optimum knows about these problems and is going to repress the faulty DVDs.

Was going to get this set, but will hold off until the remaster.

i read the reviews over on the george formby appreciation society pages and it was'nt very good.

it states the pictures have been remastered and restored but the picture quality is supposedly appalling and the sound even worse.

i think i'll just wait for a decent set of releases.

I'm not buying these. Instead, I've emailed Optimum again to request a second Formby boxset.

Good idea I get fed up shelling out to buy singly when they could be presented as a box-set still its all about making money out of us
