Renown Films

Hi, i'm new to this forum,

can anyone tell me what happened to the old British Renown film's that used to be shown on Mattinee Movies and Performance channels, are they being shown on any other channels?, or likely to be?.

There were alot of films that i've never seen before, some i think must have been 'B' pictures and or from old Brit serials of the time.

Thanks for the above, but i have visited the site before, they do not inform where these films are available from on dvd, or if any cable/sat channels are going to screen them again.

High Point to distribute Renown's library of British Films

UK distributor High Point Media Group has signed a deal with Renown Pictures to distribute its libraryof British films. Highpoint’s TV division will handle the catalogue.



It includes classic titles such as Brian Desmond Hurst’s Scrooge and the Academy Award nominated Noel Langley’s The Pickwick Papers. The Renown library also contains a number of cult classics including Henry Cass’ Blood of the Vampire.



The deal was negotiated between Noel Cronin, managing director of Renown Pictures and High Point director Julie Delaney.



High Point managing director Carey Fitzgerald described the library as a “a treasure trove of British film gems”.

I've just had a brief look at their library and it does boast b-gems like Clash by Night, Cover Girl Killer, The Hi-Jackers, Life in Danger, Smokescreen etc etc.

I believe it's dvd only via their online shop. I'm guessing this is something to do with SHE as they previously marketed many of Renown's catalogue.

Hopefully this 1930s musical rarity will be available on dvd soon from them (unless it is already - I can't quite work out which films are for sale )

If anyone is interested i do have a copy of Going Gay.I have to say that the rest of the listed films are shown on a regular basis on Movies4Men and Film 24.

thanks for your comments - any requests for a release should be emailed to info@renownltd.com - we do plan to release a number of our Butchers film gems in time for Christmas so will keep you posted.



Re whats been released - eveything listed in the actual ONLINE SHOP is available to buy at the mo - new titles coming monthly.

Interesting...I know the BBC had all rights for Butchers films but just couldn't get the prints...where have these prints been hiding?

They must have access to some as they have aired Marilyn, Serena, The Black Rider etc.
