I originally posted this mini review on the Roobarb forum:
Have just finished watching the 4 Huggetts films in this set.
Picture and sound quality is good on the first two: "Holiday Camp" and "Here Come the Huggetts", not so fine on "Vote For Huggett" (which has really poor sound) and "The Huggetts Abroad".
As far as extras go - there is only a picture gallery on each disc - enjoyed the wry captions which accompany these! Full marks to ITV DVD for issuing this set, which gives us a warm and affectionate picture of Britain immediately after World War II.
Exceptional performances from Kathleen Harrison, Jack Warner, Pet Clark and Susan Shaw as the Huggett family, and an early Diana Dors as the wayward niece. Special mention must go to Peter Hammond, who starts off in the first Huggett film as the young son, but reappears in the next three as Susan Shaw's erstwhile boyfriend. Interesting fact: most of the cast retain their real-life first names in the films.
