Thought it was too good to last ..... I love Danger Man but personally do not enjoy The Prisoner. It's a bit too wacky 60s for me, much like the colour episodes of The Avengers.

You're not the only one having problems with that site.

By the way, there is some suggestion that Not So Jolly Roger has a minor cut and misses a line of dialogue.

yes I to dont like the color episodes of the Avengers they seemed to loose something of there inherent charisma when they stopped making them in black and white, as for the prisoner I am still trying to work it out after all these years

Default danger man

I love the black and white episodes of Danger Man and The Avengers they have a by gone quality feel, but i also love the colour transition of the Prisoner and the Avengers,do not forget these programes were originally transmitted in black and white in the uk,no colour in those days so the old imagination had to work overtime ,hence a double whammy when colour tv eventually came in,quality tv indeed...nothing like it now ,just reality trash

Although I do not like the later Avengers episodes and The Prisoner I can admire the imagination that went into them. Absolutely nothing comes close these days to the sort of quality tv from the 50s/60s. Most of what passes for drama these days is half hearted and seems to be conceived purely as a vehicle for some pillock (or pillockess) who was once popular in a soap. TV producers these days seem to be operating their own 'studio system' .... if you were in a soap we will put you in Casualty/Holby/Bill/Heartbeat/Royal etc etc ... you lot who were in Bad Girls or Footballer's Wives we will create yet another cop show for you ..... or send you to a strange house in the jungle where you can sing/dance/ice skate back to 'popularity' ... but only if you get your kit off.

I think it's time I went to bed ... night night ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bats.

Bats.[/quote]You have had a hard day Bats, lets agree to disagree, the whole tv scene at the moment is in the doldrems, unfortunately apart from the odd classic film/tv series repeated I can not see a way forward.Lew Grade is long gone and he can not be reserrected, that prat nephew is no replacement

The Network site has the cover for their forthcoming Prisoner set and some of the details of the contents. There's also going to be a separate HD release later in the year.

Bloody annoying tonights Danger Man episode on ITV4 - the adverts come in so quickly the dialogue is cut off for some damn Clint Eastwood wannabe.
