Thanks for the link Doc, glad to see many of these 60's music related films being released

Andrea Lawrence who plays 'Turnaround Betty' in the On the Buses movie has a small part in this film

I've seen this film, many years ago, on ITV. For long we were guaranteed an afternoon film on that channel but C4 has taken over that mantle. A couple of other Rita Tushingham movies that I remember being ITV matinees were 'The Guru' (not the recent one, this had Michael York as her co-star) and 'Smashing Time' with Lynn Redgrave. But Rita has veen very poorly served by DVD, so 'A Place To Go' is a step in the right direction. 'The Girl With Green Eyes' is another of hers I'd like to see again.

Yes, for years now I've had to rely upon Smudge's Channel 5 recording of A PLACE TO GO (thanks, old man! )

Thought that pigs would fly before I'd see an official release of this. Guess I'll have to keep a lookout for aerial porkers now!

BTW, Rita's film THE TRAP is also being officially released next Thursday, 22 Jan 2009. Released in Germany under its German title "Wie ein Schrei im Wind" with both German and English audio tracks. There are some links to online retailers on my Rita Tushingham fansite's entry for THE TRAP

That's your work? Congratulations! I came across the 'Smashing Time' page last year and marvelled at the pictures. I've just felt the same with 'The Trap'! Fantastic discoveries. Thanks for the fansite, Robert - Rita deserves high praise for her contribution to 1960s films.

And it's also great news about the DVD (two in the same month!) - now we can be remnded of where we first heard the London Marathon theme!

A superb slice of "kitchen sink" realism this film is, at times though it can't make up it's mind whether it wants to be a drama or a comedy but nevertheless the vivid Bethnal Green location is stunning, 8/10

Another great 'heads up'; thanks Robert. And isn't it cool to FINALLY get a decent copy of APTG? LOL

Your copy is very good, apart from a slight glitch when Mike Sarne is fighting the lorry fire. I'm still quite astonished that APTG is being officially released on DVD! (I must be dreaming -- quick, pinch me.)

Yes, a shame that most folks will think of Marathon runners when they hear the Ron Goodwin theme!
