Great news. Eric Porter and Murray Melvin were also in that film I remember, along with an early appearance from George Sewell. Fellow-member thatllbetheday will be pleased to see 'Green Mansions' because it has Audrey Hepburn, but I'm most enthusiastic about 'Petulia', a haunting film. That will be great to watch on DVD.

    Many thanks for the information.

All these months later and I still haven't bought Kaleidoscope, nor Petulia. I only purchase from Amazon and have waited most of the year for them to bring down their price of £9. 98 each. This is very frustrating. Why do they cost almost a tenner while most of the others I'm interersted in are less than £5? Doubtless both films will be sold at a more reasonable price eventually, but it's taking a long time.

Here's a nice photo of the stars, Warren Beatty and Susannah York, going over their lines on set:

If the 24th January 1966 date credited is the right one, George Harrison and Patti Boyd, another

attractive couple, were on honeymoon at the time and The Liars was among the new TV shows.

No masterpiece but a quirky film. Very typical of its time with nice location work in Hampstead.

Features another excellent Stanley Myers score.

I've always liked this fluffy 60s caper movie, most of all for Eric Porters turn as a Napoleon fixated underworld villain who likes to dispose of his enemies by luring them into an enclosed cellar room and turning a military flame thrower on them! Its been out on DVD in Europe for a while and I have a very nice Spanish release in widescreen with the option of selecting the original English language soundtrack.

I always liked this film, it had a real touch of London in the sixties and a good original if rather far fetched story. Beatty was rather good in it, always remember him being chauffeur driven in his Aston Martin, I thought that was the height of cool at the time! Shot at Twickenham Studios.

Haven't seen it for years, I'm sure it has weathered ok.
