The ones that really interest me are A Taste of Excitement (which I hope will also be available individually), The Roman Polanski Boxset and some interesting titles directed by Vernon Sewell and Lance Comfort.

PS - Gaiety George was Max's screen debut (uncredited)

I see they have Blood on Satan's Claw (1971). I've been trying to find this film for a long while.

Really? It's been out in an excellent uncut DVD edition for a couple of years, I think from Anchor Bay.

I noticed Odeon are releasing The Ups and Downs of a Handyman, which, to borrow the theme of another thread, is the worst British film I've ever seen.

Still, if you want to see Bob Todd spanking a half naked women in the shower, it's the one for you...

Now, if it was Richard Todd... perhaps.

Thanks for that as I was unaware of this.

Damn! The still won't come up on the works PC. I'll just have to imagine the level of depravity it shows!

The Ups and Downs of A Handyman is, in my own opinion, twice as funny as the Confessions or Adventures films. I'm not saying it's a classic, but it has a few redeeming features!

    Many thanks Marc,

Some time ago there was a series on the Beeb called "The Forgotten Decade" dealing with the era 1945-1955. One of the programmes was called "Spivs" which discussed all aspects of their activities, including films; one of which was "They made me a Fugitive". As a student of this era I look forward to obtaining it.

    Best wishes

    Clarence

IIRC, this captured the 1960s extremely well.

Sorry but have to disagree, I thought the film was very epsodic and some of the actors get into situations that can only be described as "yeah right!", pity as I was really looking forward to watching it and found it boring before the end

    sorry!
