You don't find Cecil Parker wandering around with a cane just the tiniest bit exciting?

There is a 'discussion of illegitimacy' - do you get black marks for that? And the kids go on strike which might give impressionable youngsters Ideas.

Though the slightly dull truth is it's a mistake - the BBFC gives it a PG

or Optimum's deliberate attempt to mislead punters by making it appear slightly 'naughty' in order to boost sales !

But it stars Cecil Parker and Raymond Huntley - what extra publicity gimmick does it need?

Excellent film, the opening titles are a joy of British humour, here is one for example, Raymond Huntley as the Rev Edwin Peake SCHOOL CHAPLAIN, AND ORNITHOLOGIST, HE KNOWS A BIRD WHEN HE SEES ONE! Good transfer, link to opening titles

    Hi,
I was a bit worried for a minute. My first initial is A and my surname is French. I am a bloke. So when I saw a thread titled A French Mistress, I thought someone knew something about me that I did not! What a relief! It is a film. And one I recall seeing years ago. Very funny film.

    Alan French.
