    Due for release by Optimum on 27th April. Let's hope they do a better job on this than The goose steps out.

    One of my favourite Hay's and probably his only venture into darker comedy. I hope they restore it or unearth a quality print, rather than one that's no better than my off-air copy.

    He certainly ended on a high note unlike other music hall performers in their last films. Many crits have bemoaned the fact illness curtailed his career after such a fine film (which could have pointed the way to a slightly different kind of comedy for Hay) but I think it is fitting that his last is one of his best which almost points the way to the dark humour of Kind Hearts.
