this BBC supernatural drama is much better if you haven't read 'the haunting of toby jugg'-after reading the novel on which 'the haunted airman' is based,i feel that this was an opportunity lost in which to make an adaptation of a decent thriller.

'Toby Jugg' is fantastic but to do it just would require a bigger budget and at least feature length. The Beeb drama mostly failed in not capturing the occultism and terror of the book.

there was no explanation of the relationships between the characters,the 'occultism' amounted to a little bit of mesmerism and the ending was such a let down-but that's the problem i often have when i've read the book first! sometimes ignorance is bliss!
