Thanks for posting the article cornershop15 - wonderful stuff!
Nice to be reminded of that exchange between myself and crunchie a few posts back. Here's something
Larry's fans should enjoy reading. Earlier that year, he was a guest on Noele Gordon's This Is Your Life.

Thank you retrospecta - you've made my day :)
name='crunchie']I was lucky enough to meet Larry backstage after his show at our town theatre in 1973, and a few months later I wrote to him to tell him I was appearing on "New Faces" later that year (I'd simply addressed the envelope "Larry Grayson, Nuneaton"!) and he replied with a personal letter to say he'd be watching the show from his dressing room and wished me lots of luck!
A great warm-hearted, genuine entertainer, sadly missed.
My mum was on the viewer’s panel on New Faces.. Small world.
TVTimes preview for 'The Larry Grayson Hour of Stars', broadcast 13th September 1974
This isn't included in Larry's filmography as yet (something else I'll have to sort out) but it does exist in the archives*:
It's been a long time coming (at least two years), and all because I couldn't master the technique of splicing the next two
pages together until recently. I have also enhanced the picture quality, via Picasa, and am really pleased with the results.
*Another of our subject's forgotten credits that was mercifully saved is 2Gs (The Bee Gees) and the Pop People
Another welcome tribute:
Larry Grayson (1923 - 1995) - Find A Grave Memorial
Thanks for letting us know about this set and its on my ta-do list now. We watch his Christmas Gen Game show over chrimbo and loved every minute.
It’s arrived and what an amazing set of 3 DVD’s. We are about half way through the 538 minutes of programming contained and we particularly liked the At Home programme and Anglia News interview from 72’. Nice also to see some great stars of the day such as Diana Dors and more but one thing we realised was just how much we miss such light entertainment today…..
10/10 for this Network DVD set.
I was thinking of getting this set.i always liked to hear his stories of Slack Alice and Pop it in Pete.![]()
Go treat yourself... Certainly took me back to my teens and watching the old 26" Decca with the family...
