Cheers Julian, i like Elaine's show as well as it's all Musical Theatre with the added bonus today of our Miss Babs whom i've always admired, Queenie Watts sings in the film as well whilst a Pub is being wrecked all around her!

I didn't know you're a fan of our Babs Julian!..........i've always been drawn to her because of her bubbly outgoing personality, did you see the programme on TV approx 2/3 years ago where she traced her Family tree?

According to IMDB she was nominated for a BAFTA for this film !

I wonder if Ron & Reg had little dickybird in someone's ear.

It's a dreadful film, but Barbara shines in it. And the nomination was for her, as best actress, not for the film.

    The nominations were:

    # Billy Liar (1963) - Julie Christie

    # Sparrows Can't Sing (1963) - Barbara Windsor

    # The Servant (1963) - Sarah Miles

    # This Sporting Life (1963) - Rachel Roberts

    # Tom Jones (1963) - Edith Evans

    and the winner was ...

    Rachel Roberts
