I know I've been waiting for this for years! Last I time this was on as far as I'm aware was a solitary showing on TCM 18 months ago.

Is this a DDHE release? "Gumshoe" was one of the titles announced for DDHE release a couple of months ago.

So, are the other titles going to see the light of day? "Bunny Lake is Missing" etc.

(And not forgetting, "Ivanhoe", "Casey Jones" and several Hammer horrors.)

Amazon have changed their listing for this. The release date has gone to be replaced by 'this title is currently unavailable'. Ditto Bunny Lake Is Missing, which is what I was really waiting for.

Bats.

Daddy .... the frisbee has gone in the water .... what a finger puppet drama queen I am!

Sendit and Play are still listing these titles as available (and include the artwork).

I've got Gumshoe on pre-order with Play and it's still showing 31/8 as release date there.

Any title that was due from DDHE (since their collapse) will not be released I'm afraid.

At least it means that the print of the film is available especially as it was shown on BBC2 late at night a few weeks ago. But another of my Albert Finney favourites 'Charlie Bubbles' never seems destined to see the light of day however much I keep my fingers crossed.

I saw this film the other night, the first time since its release.I thought it was a chaotic, confused, ill conceived mess.Consign it back to the vaults for eternity.

And guess why I didn't watch it? Because it was being released at the end of August!

It's a DDHE title and most were pulled a fortnight ago. I'd guess that Sendit haven't updated their database.

The message board at IMDB, states that DDHE have been taken over by a company called Simply Media. Can anyone, confirm or deny this?

Yes, it has.

From their own website, DD Home Entertainment – A great choice of DVDs and videos

"The business of DD Home Entertainment was acquired on 21 August 2007 by the Simply Media Group."
