I haven't seen Crooked House, but I do like a good ghost story, which I understand this is. Last year BBC Four also showed a series of ghost stories under the title of Films To Keep You Awake, however these were in Spanish. I think they showed four of them in all.

They've done a pretty decent job with this one, plenty of extras: audio commentary, 45 minute making of documentary, 'what scares you' featurette, deleted scenes, trailer, easter egg.

Thankfully it is presented in its' omnibus format rather than 3 separate episodes.

I wonder what the BBC have planned for a christmas ghost story this year...

It's a good story and could do with a good retelling

It is a good story but I just wish rather than remaking and retelling the same stories over and over again they would dramatise other well known ghost stories or come up with something new more often, I watched In a Dark Place recently which was just A Turn of the Screw in a contempory setting, how long before there is yet another version of Hound of the Baskervilles?.

Much as I love "The Hound of the Baskervilles", I fear it's been done to death and it's well-nigh impossible to put a new spin on the story. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore found that out! "Dracula" too. I think I have more versions on those two stories than anything else.

A remake of Lost Hearts(more like Mystery and Imagination version) and some Poe done in the Beebs inimitable style would be welcome on my gogglebox.
