The New York Times Sunday Edition, reviewed the US release of John Ford's 1950 "Wagon Master" on DVD - a flick I have yet to see. Looks very interesting, perhaps one of our savvy members can post or link it to this thread.

My copy arrived today. It's a brilliant, entertaining, and vastly under-rated entry into the Ford canon; the R1 transfer is streets ahead of the UK release from Universal, plus the extra features are excellent - I can't say better than this review about the film and these screenshots give you a good idea of what an excellent transfer it it.

Looks terrific John, it might be beyond my price range as a new release, but it will go on the wanted list. Thanks for the post.

Have they used a decent print for the dvd release?I have it recorded off a BBC2 broadcast and the print is very dark and grainy.It is one of my favourite Ford westerns.If you haven't seen it you are missing out.

Whoops!Just looked at the screenshots link posted by John Hodson and answered my question.The new dvd release is a massive improvement over the televised print.Now where did I leave me piggy-bank?
