Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I wouldn't say I'm a big fan of horror films but these three would be a great addition to my collection, especially Taste (aka Scream) of Fear. What a film THAT was! Great performances. The Dr Jekyll one will give me a rare opportunity to watch Paul Massie for the first time in years. I also remember him from The Rebel, with Tony Hancock. I find the prices a bit outrageous though - nearly £12 each. I had a look on Amazon's website and found nothing on those films but am delighted to have come across The Ultimate Hammer Collection - 21 films for £34.98 is a fantastic deal, which I immediately added to my 'Shopping Basket'.
Some posters, etc. at Movie Goods:
The Gorgon (1964)
Taste of Fear is here listed as Scream of Fear (1961)
The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll (1960)
Or...if you can play R1 discs, you could save yourself a lot of money, & buy the Sony Hammer Box. It contains these three films plus The Curse Of The Mummys Tomb with a much better transfer than the R2 disc. All for £14.16 delivered from Amazon UK Marketplace. And...you will receive it! & not play a waiting game.
I am waiting for Movie Mail UK to bring out a DVD of Hammer's Captain Clegg, starring Peter Cushing, which I haven't seen since 1962...and I really do mean Captain Clegg and not the American titled Night Creatures. If it's a British film, the DVD should be of the version with the British title.

Well it's nice to come across someone with so much patience, but I think you could grow old & die waiting. Captain Clegg is Universal, not Sony (do Moviemail do exclusive Universal releases?). The (Night Creatures) version in the Universal Hammer Box looks so good, in fact stonking transfers of everything, stuff like; Kiss Of The Vampire, The Curse Of The Werewolf, & The Brides Of Dracula ect. And you can get it so cheap on Amazon Marketplace UK, it works out at less than £2 a film! Every Hammer fan needs a multi-region DVD player...& this box.

Seconded. It is a stunning boxset. Captain Clegg can also be obtained on R2: [ame=http://www.amazon.de/Bande-Captain-Clegg-Peter-Cushing/dp/B002AKD3VG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1256024874&sr=1-1]Die Bande des Captain Clegg: Amazon.de: Peter Cushing, Patrick Allen, Michael Ripper, Peter Graham Scott: DVD & Blu-ray[/ame]. It's a noble sentiment trying to hold out for the original title but I doubt it will ever be released. Even the last BBC screening was the Night Creatures version. At least the transer we have is first class.
Mal
I held off buying the Universal box set with Night Creatures on it, because customer reviews on amazon said the discs were faulty and kept freezing.

Yeah, double layer double sided discs can be a bit dodgy, but I'm on my 2nd DVD player with this box & have never had any trouble with either player.
Chances are that if I bought the set off amazon (quite cheap it is now, too) they'd send me one of the faulty ones that disgruntled customers have returned to them. Amazon should actually return the faulty ones back to Universal and complain very strongly. But they won't do that. Hence the number of faulty discs still on sale. However, if the threatened postal strike on Thursday and Friday can be settled before it happens, I may take a chance and buy the set. But if it's faulty, I'll make sure I get a refund from amazon.
I have the Universal box set with Night Creatures on it as I leapt at the chance to see Captain Clegg again and I have had no problems playing any of the films and considering all the films you get in the set then its super value...
All these 3 films are already on one great American package. So howcome they are being sold on this site.Im cancelling my Camp on Blood Island as i dont think it will happen

Steed - i wouldn't hold your breath on these release dates. they still haven't released the other ones (damned/blood island/yesterday's enemy) that were originally promised for September. these release dates just keep being put back and back - now to 2 November too - for reasons the company claim are due to booklet problems.
If you have a multi-region player I too would recommend the Sony R1 releases which are all excellent transfers and much cheaper in the box set.
I also have the Universal R1 box set and all 8 movies play fine on my DVD player.
According to the MM website the release date for Gorgon/Taste of Fear/two Faces of Jekyll is 25 January 2010.
Camp on Blood Island/Yesterday's Enemy/The Damned is now down at 2 November (having previously been pushed back from 5 October to 19 October a few weeks ago).
The covers of the films on the MM site all show BBFC PG certificates but there is no sign of these films on the BBFC website (The Damned was given a 12 when it was released on VHS by Encore in 1996; the other two have never had a home video release).

Yes, it's no good getting hot under the collar about all these delays. I've just sort of forgotten I've ordered them, & one day they're going to drop through the letter box, & it'll be a nice surprise!
Camp on Blood/Yesterday's Enemy and The Damned have now had their release dates pushed back to 23rd November.

They are taking the P**S now. Why dont they just put it up as "available somtime in the next 5 years " Instead of changing the date every few weeks
