THis is driving me nuts, I am sure this cottage by the cliff was used in another film or series I saw recently, in colour too. Maybe something like a 60's/70's crime series? It involved a young woman who thinking the house was empty, found it wasn't and a rather nasty individual was using it. She may have been locked in by the deranged character. Help!

Mrs Bat thinks it was an episode of a TV crime series, but can't remember which one.

No, a different shaped (longer, narrower) building.

The owner of the Taplow site said the home is on a road/footpath leading to the south of the main wall.

That coastal cottage reminds me of a cottage in the film The Road Builder also known as The Night Digger.

I don't have a copy of the film to make a comparison though so I may be way off the mark....I'm just going by memory...last saw it about 6 months ago on TCM.

If anyone has a copy it might be worth checking.

Does anyone know the location of the Big House and/or where the beach scenes might be (looks like Cornwall to me).

The beach scenes were filmed at Porthcurno in West Cornwall. I have no idea where the house on the coast is.

I thought the cottage was in Treyarnon, but, having been there recently the place that I thought it was, was not. If it was filmed in part in Portcurno then it may be situated nearby in Cape Cornwall.

It is defintely Porthcurno beach because you can see the Logan Rock (not the local pub!) in the background.

From what I recall it looked like a cottage with a galvanised steel shell, I'm wondering if it would still be standing?

Looking back again I think it's an extension added to the main building. But it is periously close to the cliff edge.

I finally got around to showing the picture of the house on the cliffs to my father and he confirms that it is located just slightly to the north of Cape Cornwall (near St Just). He was born in St Just and knows the area very well and recognised the photo straight away.

If it's still standing it should be on Google maps?
