Default A Perfect Spy

This is currently being repeated on BBC4. Does anyone recognise the seaside town that Magnus Pym chooses as his bolthole. In the novel it is South Devon and the location looks true to the book. It looks pretty familiar to me.

Cheers

Ah Yes, the Soviet Union. All them wheatfields and ballet in the evenings

You're right Julian, it's Dawlish. Beautiful place, well worth a visit. The room he rents is above Boat Cove on the sea front.

Thanks. I had narrowed it down to those two places too. I have made the journey down to Penzance by rail a couple of times and spent some time in Teignmouth.

Came across this forum whilst googling trying to remember which film it was I remember being shot in Dawlish, and I'm certain it's A Perfect Spy now.

I grew up in Dawlish and my folks still live there. I remember as a kid the buzz about some filming in Dawlish. It was down on the sea front along some of the terraced houses (Marine Parade) by the railway, and remembered it was a spy film.

I remember waiting for it to show on TV and being rather dissapointed by it but then it would probably have bored me back then. Really should track it down again though.
