Default Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush

In this thread someone asked about the location of the lake scenes.

I thought I would post it in this section to see if it gets a better response. I haven't seen the film for many years but I do live in the area.

Grafham Water and Stanborough Lakes are two options. I am trying to find photos of the buildings to see if they match.

I go to Graffham about once a month so if you can post any screen grabs I might be able to confirm it for you.

I don't have a copy myself but this is the screenshot posted in the other thread:

I think I have just proved that the photo is Grafham Water

Flash Earth ...satellite and aerial imagery of the Earth in Flash

This building couldn't be anything else. The turret on the roof and the gantry at the
side. The shadow also shows that it is narrower below the top.

Success I think.

It's most definately not Stanborough Lakes, I only two minutes from there! Besides I'm quite sure the lakes didn't exist when the film was made. That area was mostly watercress meadow.

Isn't there a lake at Fairlands Valley in Stevenage?

There is but there are no buildings like that one. As PS says, it very much looks like Graffham.

Fairlands Valley lakes in Stevenage, the rest of the film was made in Stevenage so why not! Would need to watch again to check when I find it at the back of the cupboard.

Well the screen grab is a good match for the aerial photo of Grafham.

I watched this last night. So is there a definitive answer about the lake? I was there (Graffham) last year and cycled around it. I must say it doesn't seem as big as the one in the film, and I didn't notice a restaurant / motel as big as that, only a snack place.
