Default Black Park and Lake near Pinewood

Well I'm planning a trip cycling around Black Park tomorrow with the family primarily because it's next door to Pinewood and many many things such as UFO, Casino Royale etc were filmed in Black Park.

Ideally to complete the day I'd like to find a pub in the area that has maybe been used for filming at some stage on a location shoot or that was frequented by some actors at one time or another. Can anyone recommend a nice pub for lunch in that area ideally or even within say 45 mins drive with a film connection???

Would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Jonathan

My main interests are old war movies, Carry On, swinging 60's, Bless this House< avengers and ITC productions such as UFO but I'm not too fussy - am I right that the movie 'Bless this House' featured a pub in the area?

The Crooked Billet on the A412 roundabout at the end of Pinewood Rd was the traditional haunt of studio stars in the past, but I think in recent years it's been completely gutted. They used to have film pictures in there, but I haven't been for many years so cannot say how it is now.

The Jolly Woodman (Burnham Beeches?) has been used in filming. A good website to research pubs is called Beer In The Evening or BITE - you'll need to Google that. It sorts pubs by location and gives you other pubs nearby.

Yes, The Black Horse at Fulmer is a good one or you could try The Crown at Burnham Beeches as seen in The Avengers episode Killer (H28.)
