Question Don't Look Now - the Baxter's English home

Does anyone have any idea where the famous opening sequence of Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now (1973) was shot? Of course the film is mainly shot on location in Venice, but the early scenes (where the Baxters' daughter drowns) are set in England and have a very English feel.

Various internet sources suggest that the house and garden is somewhere in Hertfordshire, but despite further digging I can find no more precise details.

Any comments, ideas or suggestions very gratefully received.

Thanks, James.

ps. Will try and do some screengrabs to help jog those memories.

Default Don't Look Now - more clues

Further to my previous post, I've recently found a press book for Don't Look Now which confirms that the opening sequence was shot at the home of veteran actor David Tree in Hertfordshire. The precise location is still unknown, although IMDb notes that Mr Tree lived in Broxbourne, near Hertford.

Here are a few screengrabs which show the house in question:

Does anyone from the Hertford area recognise this place?

There looks to be a fairly distinctive church tower through the trees on photo 4 which might yield some clues.

IMDb goes a bit further and says:

His home at Broxbourne, near Hertford, was the cottage used at the beginning of the film Don't Look Now (1973), in which he appeared.

(If that's a cottage, then my flat's a cupboard under the stairs)

He also appeared in the film.

Nice spot with the church spire, thanks! Will see where that leads me and let you know.
