Ah.....actually the "Slaughtered Lamb" is not a pub at all ..it is a house next to the Church in Crickadarn in South Wales. It was made to look like a pub from the outside, barrels against the wall etc...but that it as far as it went..all interiors were then filmed at the Black Swan in Effingham..(A.K.A. the "Mucky Duck")

Landis also offered to leave the statue shown in the arrival scenes to Crickadarn but the villagers declined his offer.

Also used in An American Werewolf In London was Tan Hill,Britain's highest pub. Perched on the Pennines,it is perhaps the most isolated pub I've ever visited. On a dark night, all you can see are the headlights of vehicles going along the A66 and that is a few miles away.
Myself and a gang of lads walked from Reeth to Tan Hill, had a few pints, stopped the night, had breakfast and walked back to Reeth. 26 miles all told.
The pub is an ideal setting for any scary film ghostly
If anyone would like to spend an evening there,I would fully recommend it thumbs_u
Pennine steak with salad and chips, washed down with good ale (or lager) followed by a rare old party scarf love it!

If you are around Tann Hill about Christmas/New Years time MarkyB, you may be 'raided' by the local 2CV Club (you know, those funny little French cars).

This bunch of nutters drive up to the pub, usually with snow about and spend some time festively eating and drinking. Some of them stay the night. I haven't been, but I have photographic evidence!

I can say these things because I've got one of those funny little French cars and they are great!!!

As this thread has nothing to do with Brit films, I'll shove off now!

Where were these pubs and clubs?

* "Treasure Island" (1934) - Pub owned by the Hawkins?

* "Women in Green" - The bar in Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) where Holmes sees culprit?

* "This Sporting Life" - scene where Richard Harris (Frank Machen) sings?

* "A Hard Days Night" - the place where the Beatles get away to hang out?

* "Don't Nail Him Yet" (Danger Man) - Pub where Rawson) suspect runs away from Drake in West End?

* "The Girl Who Was Death" (The Prisoner) - Pub where #6 drinks poison in his beer?

* "All Creatures Great and Small" - Pub where many scenes were played?

* "Brannigan" - John Wayne copper movie with Judy Geeson. Pub where he gets in fight?

* "Local Hero" - Pub where the locals hang out?

* 35 Up - Pub where three girls from East End meet in documentary?

* Inspector Morse Pubs Which pub in Oxford did Morse and Lewis hang out at? Dark wood with low ceiling? I think it was "The White Horse".

The pub featured in "Local Hero" is the 'LOCHAILORT INN'at Lochailort, near Morar,Scotland.
"A Hard Days Night"- The 'TURKS HEAD',Twickenham.
If you are referring to the tv series "All Creatures Great & Small" that was filmed in the village of Askrigg,Yorkshire & the local pub there featured.

The pub in the Prisoner episode GIRL WHO WAS DEATH was the old Thatched Barn at the top of Shenley Rd Boreham Wood, next to the A1.

This now demolished hotel was in the roadhouse stlye and was a cracking place to go drink after touring the Elstree area looking at film locales.

It was said to have been the initial meeting place for art director j. Elder-Wills and his art department crews during WWII, who went on to form the SOE's 'Dirty tricks' mob.

The Barn was used in other ITC Series of the 60s such as Dept. S and the Champions. Amongst it's other film appearances was THE GHOST OF RASHOMON HALL....

That was The Lamb Tavern, Leadenhall Market, London EC3V 1LR.

Leadenhall Market is one of London's old covered markets just next door to the new Lloyds building.

The one they drank in most was THE TROUT in Wolverton, just outside Oxford. Although tbh they seemed to find a new one every week. Curiously, they also visited THE BLACK SWAN at Effingham a few times (After it was refurbished...not as it was during the time of AWIL,see above)
