I see the pub used in Clockwork Orange was demolished a while back
Hi, Carlin,

Sorry to hear that. Where was that pub?

Thanks,

Barbara

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY PUBS ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT MAY NOW SELL GOOD REAL ALES THAT HAVE BEEN FEATURED IN FILMS ESPECIALLY OVER THE LAST FIFTY YEARS WITHIN THE UK. THIS COMBINES TWO OF MY HOBBIES AND I MAY DO A TOUR IF I CAN FIND ENOUGH STILL STANDING. DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE NAME OF THE PUB IN A KIND OF LOVING WHERE ALAN BATES SINGS ON STAGE WHILE GETTING DRUNK WITH JACK SMETHURST.
In SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING, Albert Finney fell down the stairs of the White Horse, Ilkeston Road, Nottingham.

In A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, Ringo was thrown out of the Turk's Head, Winchester Road, St Margarets, Twickenham.

In HELP, the Beatles dived through the window of the City Barge, Strand on the Green, Chiswick.

And the only pub I know of to be named after a film, The "Genevieve" in Streatham, is no longer there.

The Western Isles Hotel, Mull - I Know Where I'm Going!
"The Hand of Glory" in A Canterbury Tale is an amalgam of "The Red Lion" in Wingham and the "George & Dragon" in Fordwich. Different villages on either side of Canterbury but seamlessly merged into a single location in the film.

There is a pub which features quite prominently in "Here we go round the Mulberry Bush". As I vaguely recall it had a sort of viking theme. The whole film was shot in Stevenage so it might be possible to trace the boozer.

Anyone live there ?

Ah Yes, the Soviet Union. All them wheatfields and ballet in the evenings

"The British Flag" in Rowditch lane, Battersea, was featured in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. contrary to those who believe all the film was shot in Nottingham.

Sadly, the pub featured in Hammer House Of Mystery And Susepnse's seminal BLACK CARRION, in the village of Great Gaddesden, betwixt Hemel Hempstead and Dunstable, has now been kernocked through and turned into flats.

"Whatever happened to Fay Wray?"

I'm not sure of the exact location in London but...

The Mother Black Cap - site of the famous "What f**ker said that?" scene in Withnail & I really does exist.

It used to be called something else, but it was refurbished last year and is now called The Mother Black Cap.

If you're a Wickerman fan, you can drink here and stay overnight in the Sergeant Howies room.

There's The Wicked Lady pub between St Albans and Wheathampstead. It's almost certainly named after the film.

Is it still there? It's not listed in the Yellow pages. not for St Albans, Wheathampstead or Sandridge which is about the only place between the two.
