Default Eye of the Needle location

I have just watched Eye of The Needle and quite entertaining it was as well - also reminding me how gorgeous Kate Nelligan is.
However, there is a scene where Donald Sutherland has stolen a motorbike and crosses a road bridge. Does the road bridge actually exist, and if so,where is it?
Also,does Storm Island?

Yes, the bridge does exist and is in Scotland.
It is called Connel bridge and you will find it five miles NE of Oban.
In fact much of the film was shot around here. Oban is where Faber arrives
after dumping the motorbike. The ornate frontage of the Globe cinema was
in fact the rail station. It has since been demolished and been replaced by a
bland brick box. The frontage of the police station is also in Oban. Storm Island
also exists but not under that name. It is in reality Mull. They filmed in some
fairly innacessible parts though. At Lochbuie on the south coast is the house.
Take the track heading west along the shoreline and you soon pass a private track roughly heading north. The hous ' An Learg ' is up here. Continue on the
shore track and you will pass the crags seen when the jeep is driving to the
lighthouse. After a mile of walking you reach Port a' Bheoil Mhoir. This is the
bay where Kate Nelligan and Donald Sutherland look at the remains of his boat.
Even more remote is Treshnish Point on the NW coast. All the cliff scenes were
filmed here but don't expect to see the lighthouse as it was just a set. Directly
below the site of the lighthouse is Port Haun - the beach where Faber is shot
dead. It takes a good half hour to walk here from the nearest road.
Hope this answers your question.

In retrospect, the track at Lochbuie leading to the house ' An Learg ' goes northwest NOT north - sorry. Want to know a few more locations for this film?
1) Blackbushe Airfield, Camberley - The airfield full of decoys.
2) Watercress Line, Alresford - Railway scenes.
3) The River Wey Navigation, between Guildford & Pyrford - Canal scenes.
( There are about five or six lock-keepers cottages on this stretch of river, perhaps someone can say which is the one where Faber gets his boat ).
