Hi - it's my 2nd post on here (great little site!) But just to update you on the Jimmy's Alley location - yes, it WAS up the side of Chows chinky restaurant, (I noticed there was never anyone in there) but ever since one TV chef by the name of Ramsey went to the adjacent Momma Cherry's Soulfood shack, Chows is no more. It's another Soulfood Shack! I did have a piccy of the alley with all the grafitti... Italian Mods! Just thought I'd let you know if you're Brighton bound with a big magnifying glass, looking for a chinese restaurant that no longer exists!

Is everyone sure Jimmy's house was really in Wells House Road, North Acton ? I went there today and it didn't look like the street I remember. Hav'nt got the film on DVD or VHS to have another look so I may be mistaken. Got some photo's tho, if anyone wants a look.
Went to Little East Street in Brighton several years ago. Dissapointed to see there's a back way out of that Alley - If he'd took that route, he would'nt have got arrested silly boy. |

this is an ariel view of the house in kitchener road, someone on here mentioned that it was actually clarendon road. well in the movie you can see as everyone arives i sign in the background that says GDNS this i belive is clarendon gardens !!!
i think its the house on the crossroads with castledon avenue, in the movie you can see a sign in the background as jimmy drives off after wrecking the garden, but no matter how many times i try to pause it or play the movie in slow motion i cant get a clear id on the sign..... maybe someone will correct me . . :) from what i can see and work out with the road markings in the movie and in the picture i think this is it !!! ![]() Last edited by modzee; 25-03-2007 at 04:49 AM. |

when jimmy pulls up outside the club where he meets ferdy, this is shelton street.... i know this because it is mentioned by phil daniels and franc roddam in the running commentry on the dvd as frank mentions the london international film school in the background on the left as jimmy pulls up on the bike, and phil actually says its lots road ........ guessing by the fact he turns left into lots road it must have been king street he turned in from... both lots road and shelton street are in different parts of london . . . |

They give some fuller addresses. The Wormholt Estate is off Hemlock Road, Acton. Steph's supermarket is (or was, it's been demolished) on Goldhawk Road, Shepherd's Bush. Steve |

QUADROPHENIA…Director…Franc Roddam… Cast Inc…Sting…Phil Daniels…Toyah Wilcox…Leslie Ash… About thirty of the boys were bussed down to Brighton dressed as policemen. We were going to recreate the Mod’s and Rocker’s scenes of the early 60s. Mobs coming up from London to fight on the beeches. (I used to do that twenty years before, only at Bognor Regis, not Brighton.) When I think how stupid I was in the late 50s early 60s to travel all that way to get into a punch up I might as well stayed at home and had a row with the geezer next door. (Saves time) This time it was different as I was dressed as a copper. (You do stand out a bit) We told all the kids that this was only acting and we would be using rubber bricks and rubber sticks. (I forgot about the latecomers.) After two days filming we all had a few bruises but were well paid for our trouble and headed back to London. (It became a cult film) Aitch,
