It was meant to be in the Stockwell area, that's where Violette grew up. A lot of it, like the street where her family's house was, was filmed in the actual street. Not sure about those opening credits though. There aren't (or weren't) many buses that go from South to North London. You usually had to change at Trafalgar Square.

What is the number of the bus in the opening of CHNWP?
Are we talking about the one that has Billie Whitelaw as the conductor?

Yep, Billie as the conductor, I'll check it out for the number!

Who?

I was just watching Odette as well. I especially like the introduction by Maurice Buckmaster, the head of the French section of SOE.

It's nice of the TV people to show in the films about two of the three SOE women that were awarded the George Cross - in the same week.

I had an email from Tania Szabo just the other day and she is in London for the London Book Fair from Monday promoting her book, so if you would like to meet the daughter of a truly amazing lady, find out where it's on and if you do meet her plese tell her lordtednfs (Eddie) in the Philippines sends his best wishes.

As does Steve Crook. I've met her a few times and she's a very lovely lady herself.

Now that's not a good thing. They are forgetting what this wonderful lady did for us all. Maybe we should petition the Mail to get this pulled from "their collection". They are demeaning the memory of a true hero by "shoving it out" for anyone to watch just to add to their collection without understanding the true meaning of what Violetta has done. Shame on you Daily Mail and the producers of such a great movie.

Anything to make a fast buck!

Au contraire, as much as I dislike the Daily Hate Mail, I would say that anything that lets people see the film is a good thing.

I doubt the producers of the movie had any say in it. They all died some time ago
It's the distributors that would have done the deal.

Oh, and it's Violette, not Violetta. That makes her sound like an ice cream

Will they appreciate the story of one that gave the ultimate gift? My guess is they will not. Will they even think of delving into the history of the great lady? Would they think of looking to see if she has a history left behind her in Tania? Be honest now.

Most people today think about only one thing...themselves.

And sorry for pressing the wrong key, Violette.

We will never know unless they're offered it. It may be casting pearls before swine, but a few of the little piggies might realise the importance in concentrically encrusted calcium carbonate

As long as some of them realise that it's a true story and not fiction then that'd be a small victory

I think you under estimate people who view a film. If this gets people talking again about this great lady and showing it to their sons, daughters, nephews, nieces so they get to learn about her, then that is great.
