Apologies for repeating question I asked several months ago, no luck as yet, I'm still looking for the actual name of the town that was used for filming Roy Ward Bakers "The singer not the song" All I know is that it was in Spain, north of Malaga near Torimlinos. I was in spain in April and had a good look around Almeria at the Leone locations and some of the Lawrence locations, I can't find any info form Bogarde's memoirs or biographies because he disowned the film and rarely spoke of it and I think the same goes for Roy Ward Baker, Im going back in August and would like to try and find out before then, any suggestions most welcome!

I meant to add that I realise you want the specific town, but I suspect that collection of old buildings out in that desolate, sandy area near Torremolinos and Granada is long gone, assuming it wasn't part set, taken down at the conclusion of the film.

If you are doing serious research on this location, I will dig deeper, but it will take time. Let me know by PM? If it is curiosity, I share it, but the film location is not scenic nor historic, so I question if it's worth the effort. Yet I understand the fever of wanting to find a location, witness our long BritMovie team effort to pin the location of Dead of Night, which was well worth it.

thanks for your help, I have the answer via the Dirk Bogarde estate and dirkbogarde.co.uk , for anyone else interested the town is near Malaga and is called Alhaurin de la Torre. I will let you know if there are any photos of Dirk hanging in the local bars there!! cheers.
