Default Highgate cemetery

Anyone that has been to this wonderful atmospheric place will know that it is a perfect location for a horror film. Can anyone tell me what films has Highgate cemetery featured in?
The ones I can think of are:
'Taste the blood of Dracula'
'From beyond the grave' [I think]
'Son of Dracula' (1974)

The IMDb also reports:
Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment (1966)
The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)
Päivä Karl Marxin haudalla (1983) - Finnish documentary about Karl Marx
High Hopes (1988)
Cambridge Spies (2003) (TV)

Thanks for that Steve. I think there was also a news report or feature in the early 70's about the Highgate Vampire with Sean Manchester.

That doesn't claim to be an exhaustive list. Just the ones that the IMDb has been told about

Kensal Green Cemetery, West London has also been a great film set. Two Britfilms that spring to mind are "Theatre of Blood" and "Steptoe and Son" Both comedies??? of coures.

"How about dat, a? How about dat?

Been to Highgate Cemetery a few times. Fantastic location and should have been used more for horror stuff.
I found the Phibes Family Vault and took some photo's. Will post them if anyone's interested

Also photographed the Steptoe and Theatre Of Blood locations from Kensall Green

Would love to see the photos Dr.Phibes. Do you know if Highgate is still overgrown in places or has it all been pruned and clipped back now? I went there during the late 1980's, I haven't had chance to go back again since.

Hi Monsterscud,

You are only allowed to go around on GUIDED TOURS in the Western side. There are still quite overgrown parts, but the atmosphere of the place is awesome.
I'll dig out the photo's tonight and post them

Cheers

Here are a few photo's of Highgate Western Cemetery as promised...

The magnificent entrance, In Swains Lane, Highgate.

This is the course our guide took us on. As you can see, this part isn't too overgrown. We were not allowed to wander off the main path, as some of the tombs were in danger of collapse and therefor a bit dangerous.

This picture shows the Egyptian Avenue, which leads into the Lebanon Circle, where the Phibes family vault was in The Abominable Dr Phibes.

This it taken in the Lebanon Circle. The Phibes vault was one on the right side of the photo.

This picture is taken from above the circle of Lebanon looking down over the family vaults.

I can't recommend a day out to Highate enough. It's so atmospheric, and as previously posted, absolutely perfect for a horror film.
