The Phantom Light (1935) is available from Nostalgia Family Video in the States. They come in a standard yellow cardboard video box

Emil und die Detektive (1931) is available from Amazon Germany
Note that that's the first version, auf Deutsch.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the info on these two films. I know Nostalgia - I bough Just William's Luck and Angel in a Taxi from them a few years ago. Unfortunately, my VHS players were both put out of action by a rogue (very oxidized) tape and they don't respond to cleaning. So I'm really looking for DVD.
I know they're unlikely to get released on DVD, but I'm hoping they may have been copied from TV.
Thanks again,
Richard

I don't think they've ever been broadcast so it's not likely.
But you never know

The Phantom Light turns up every few months on ABC TV Australia.

I've just checked...it was last broadcast on 27th September.
