Default Ferry Across the Mersey

Can anyone help me find this please, it is for my sister who loves Gerry and the Pacemakers.
It is strange that it doen't seem to be in public domain, they could sell a few on the ferries or at the Beatle festival.
Cheers in Advance
Freddy

Hi Freddy,

The correct song & film title is "Ferry Cross The Mersey."

I believe it may not be available through the UK but the DVD is available on the "Video Beat" web site.

At last "WHAT A CRAZY WORLD" 1963. Marty Wilde as Herbie Shadbolt sings "what an 'andsome punch-up! till someone called the law".

I'm not surprised that you can't buy Ferry Cross the Mersey in the shops in this country. You can't get sod all in the UK. Two early 1960's British musicals I'd love to see again (and real museum pieces now) are It's Trad Dad! and Just For Fun. Both with wafer thin plots, but crammed with a host of early 1960's recording stars...Helen Shapiro and Mark Wynter to name but two...and some marvellous songs that put today's so-called "pop" music well and truly in the shade.

Meanwhile, the shelves at HMV and other stores are full of absolute junk titles that they find hard to even give away in the January sales as loss leaders.

A few years ago, I spoke to the manager of my local HMV store about this and films like those I mentioned above and he told me that if they could get those titles, they could sell them. But the video companies just won't issue them.

David,

The movie "Just For Fun" is available through the before mentioned website
www.thevideobeat.com

Worth checking out for the other title too.

Cheers

Dave.
