Default Never Mind The Quality Feel The Width The Movie (1972)

Does anybody have a copy of the film of the TV Sitcom called Never Mind The Quality Feel The Width (1972)? I collect TV sitcom spin off movies, but this is relatively obscure. Any leads on this one?

It hasn't to my knowledge been on TV for years - I saw it twenty or so years ago

There was a TV Movie made from the series in the "Armchair Theatre" strand in 1967. That ran for 1 hour. See the IMDb entry

I remember seeing this film on TV - it must have been made in the early Seventies.

Quite funny, if you are broadminded enough to laugh at ethnic/religious stereotypes.

I recall that it featured the Irish and Jewish fellas (can't remember their names) going on holiday to Rome. At one point they are on a tour around the Vatican and get a bit lost. The Jewish guy steps out onto a balcony to get some fresh air - cue a gigantic cheer from the crowd outside !

Sounds a bit un-PC, like Love Thy Neighbour The Movie (1972). But I collect sitcom spin-off films/specials, so I'm still keen to see it. That's Your Funeral The Movie (1972) is another one that teeters on the brink of bad taste, and the BBC shows that every so often, because it was one of their own series. They put it on after midnight on BBC2.
But, if anyone knows where Never Mind The Quality Feel The Width The Movie (1972) it can be viewed...

I'm still keen on seeing this film, if anyone knows where a copy can be obtained. Or if they want to swap for it, that's fine. I just need to complete my collection of SitCom Spin Off films.

There was definitely an 88 minute feature film version, it's not on the IMDb though.

As Spike Milligan once said, I've got a certificate to prove it:-

NEVER MIND THE QUALITY FEEL THE WIDTH rated AA by the BBFC

It is on the IMDb, but as an episode of Armchair Theatre.
Starring John Bluthal, Joe Lynch and distributed by MGM-EMI, a lot of the information ties up with what's listed on the BBFC & BFI sites (which don't have much detail). But the Armchair Theatre version was cut down to just 60 minutes.

I wonder if the 88 minute feature film version was ever actually shown anywhere?

Default BFI Print of Never Mind The Quality Feel The Width (1972)

I contacted the BFI, and they have a print of the film for theatrical rental only. They weren't willing to loan it in DVD format, which was a pity. It would be nice to see it, though.
I've just read another thread on this site that covers episodes of the original sitocm repeated on UK Gold. Did UK Gold ever show the film version? Does anybody know the last UK transmission date of this film?
Thanks, All!!
