JULES VERNES ROCKET TO THE MOON
Rocket to the Moon (1967)
was released by Momentum on DVD in 2001.

The 1967 UK theatrical release version had a length of 116'40 minutes which corresponds a video length (25 fps) of 111'00 minutes. The Momentum/Studio Canal DVD version runs 103'59 minutes; a previous VHS release by Warners was even more drastically cut down to 88'26 minutes.

ROCKET TO THE MOON rated U by the BBFC

This Harry Alan Towers production was co-financed by the German Nora Film distributon company and the German theatrical release version has a slightly different cut and a running time of only 94'43 minutes.

The interesting thing is: the German version (occasionally shown on German TV in an anamorphic 16:9 transfer but not available on DVD) has 9 scenes which are missing on the Momentum DVD. If you put the total time of these scenes you have additional footage of 8'07 minutes. This makes exact the time you have to add to the Momentum DVD length to get the full running time of the original theatrical British 111'00 minutes.

Does anybody know why this footage is missing from the English version today ? Does anyone have the original English audio for the 9 scenes given above; perhaps from British TV ? Please PM me.

Does anyone have an MP3 or CD of the title theme for JULE'S VERNE'S ROCKET TO THE MOON which went by a couple of titles - one of which was BLAST OFF. Music was by John Scott.
