Check the credits for the playwright Harold Brighouse on the IMDb. That lists:
# Hobson's Choice (1983) (TV)
# Hobson's dochters (1974) (TV)
... aka Hobson's Choice (International: English title)
# "ITV Play of the Week" (2 episodes, 1960-1962)
- Hobson's Choice (1962)
# Hobson's Choice (1954)
# Hobson's Choice (1931)
# Hobson's Choice (1920)

I have a good copy, recorded off of pre-recorded VHS onto DVD. It's the 1954 version, with John Mills and Charles Laughton.

Hobson's Choice is available commercially on VHS and DVD so you shouldn't be trading for copies of it via this forum. The copyright control people would have a fit!

The David Lean Collection - excellent value for 9 fine films.

Robert Donat was offered Hobson's Choice but couldn't get the insurance - I assume this was for the Laughton role but he would have been fine in the young man's part. He'd have been too old but then John Mills was clearly at least 15 years older that the part called for.
