Default Life at the Top (1965) - Laurence Harvey

The sequel to his 1959 film Room at the Top. He plays the ambitious Joe Lampton in both. Does anyone have Life at the Top or know where it can be obtained? Thanks.

I have a copy in NTSC format, it's pretty good if I remember correctly but will double-check if you want a copy.
I also have 1973's Man At The Top, as well!

I know what it's like ... you see something you have been after for a while, and you just have to jump at it when you finally find it ... I've done that myself ... and then found out that people I know have had it all along!

How does Life at the Top compare with the original?
I've recently obtained a copy of RATT, which I think is one of the best British films of it's time.
I remember Man at the Top with Kenneth Haigh playing the lead role.

IMHO it's not as good as RATT but it's good in it's own right. Harvey is excellent as are Jean Simmons and Honor Blackman but it lack the impact of the original. Michael Craig is pretty good too. Worth watching if a copy ever surfaces, I haven't seen it for years.

There was also a film based on the series. Kenneth Haigh starred in both.

I remember the episode when Joe and his wife were in the process of selling their house in the midst of their divorce. Joe being reluctant to sell, was showing prospective perchasers around, and the middle class woman exclaimed whilst viewing the bathroom, "ooh, there's a crack in the toilet"...to which Joe replied (in front of his wife)...."somebody must have shit a brick"...........
Brilliant stuff.I hope the series does get released on DVD.
