Default British Transport Films.

Hello All,
Having bought everything that is and was available it still leaves me looking for an awful lot. So if there's anyone out there who loves these BTF jewels and would like to trade please contact me. A friend has sent me a listing of these lovely little films which runs from 1950 to 1986. I don't know if this is a complete listing (I think not) but it does let me know what I haven't got between those dates. According to a scribbled note at the top of the page it come from J. Reed's Moving Images. 40 Years of British Transport Films. I also have many other short films and documentaries to trade.

As you probably know, quite a few BTF films are available on DVD (R2) sets published by the BFI ...... There about 8 collections to date with about 10 films on each set.... 80 films in all .......

See:
Amazon.co.uk: British Transport Films Collection: DVD

They may be even cheaper elsewhere...Packaging and presentation is excellent..

Also Geoffrey Jones: the Rhythm of Film (BFI DVD) has several BTF films

Screenonline also has several complete BTF films you can view in your local UK library....

Would you be able to post the list on here, or is it too long? That way, folks could search their collections for any likely ones.

Also, Calf28, have you picked up that a new volume of BTF films is due (Volume 8) in this excellent series? See Amazon.co.uk: British Transport Films Collection... Amazon.co.uk: British Transport Films Collection...
Due in mid-August. Can't wait!

Thank you for your reply Julian. I have all those that have been released by the BFI (most from video before the BFI release) and quite a few that haven't been released yet. I've just had a look at the Geoffrey Jones 'The Rhythm of Film', it looks a good set but a few are on the lateish side for me. I prefer the 1950s/60s ones, particularly the travelogues rather than the shunting and track maitainance.

Thanks for your reply Rob. I'm afraid that the list would be too long but what I will do is put on a list of about a dozen and gradually work my way through my 'wants'
Thanks also for putting me onto BTF volume eight.
