Unhappy Joe Meek

I think a film was made about Joe Meek a few years ago. Probably called "The Joe Meek Story" or something similar. Would love to get a copy of this. I've searched the net, but can't find a DVD of this anywhere. Many thanks. DuPret.

Not exactly "a few years ago", but there is a documentary called A Life in the Death of Joe Meek (2008)

There's also an episode of the BBC's Arena series about him - The Strange Story of Joe Meek (1991)

There is a film about Joe Meek which is apparently finished but hasn't been released yet - Rita Tushingham mentioned it when I met her a few weeks ago - I think she plays Meek's landlady in the film.

That'll be Telstar (2008)
Rita plays an Essex Medium. That has Con O'Neill playing Joe Meek, reprising his role in the successful stage version

Default Telstar Joe Meek

I think that's the film i'm looking for. It was a stage hit then turned into a film.

Now, all i have to do is find the DVD.

Many thanks, much appreciated. linda dupret

I'm also looking forward to the 2008 film about Joe Meek.

In case you're also looking for the 1991 Arena documentary "The Strange Story Of Joe Meek" I have this on DVD.

Telstar hasn't been released as a Movie just yet so it won't be on DVD yet awhile, some of us are waiting patiently for it's release, they're probably adding the final touches

Default Meek feature film

Has anyone got a copy of the lost Meek feature film 'Farewell Performance' (1963)
includes at least four Meek songs performed by The Tornados, Chad Carson and Heinz.

Would happily kill to get a VHS or DVD of this one
