If it's in Stevenage I'd have thought it'd have to be Fairlands Park.

I've got a friend who lives in Stevenage and knows the area well, he says the said location is not in Stevenage. Another friend I know, was born in nearby Luton and he's swears that the nude scenes were filmed in nearby Luton Hoo which throws out the "filmed entirely on location in Stevenage New Town" right out of the window, thanks for the link

Just had a look at the map and the location of the lake is right next door to where the filming took place, maybe the building was knowcked down at some point, I dunno!

I've just been down the Fairlands Valley and have got to say that it looks nothing like as in your screenshot. For a start the lake doesn't look so big in real life but that could be down to the wide angle lens then that building and the landscape are different, but then the film was made 35 odd years ago.

Smile Mulberry Bush on the big screen

There's a 40th anniversary screening of Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush at BFISouthbank - better known to most of us as the National Film Theatre - on 21st September 2007.

The screenwriter, Hunter Davies, is scheduled to appear to answer questions afterwards.

Default NFT anyone?

Did anyone actually attend the NFT screening. I couldn't go and wanted to know what the screening was like and the q & a. I actually wrote to Hunter Davies some time ago and he answered some questions by letter - and I still have the original paperback book and a copy of the BBC transmission which I run regularly. I am guessing that it is not on DVD because of music copyright problems. I remember when the CD was issued a few years ago it had to be withdrawn as it contained a scene from the film. Maybe it will never make it on to DVD...

I made myself a nice edition of this in which I restored all the footage cut from the BBC screening (using an old Australian broadcast) and added an alternate clothed skinny dipping scene as an extra. If anybody wants a copy PM me.
