I wonder if anyone might possibly have these three films on DVD-R for trade etc :

Inspector Hornleigh (1939)
Inspector Hornleigh On Holiday (1939)
Inspector Hornleigh Goes To It (1941)

Please PM, and hopefully we can trade. Thanks :-)

Wouldn't mind a copy of the final film myself. Great series of comedy thrillers.

I have all three of the HORNLEIGH trio. When Channel 4 last broadcast INSPECTOR HORNLEIGH ON HOLIDAY several years ago, the sound broke down for six minutes or so towards the end of the film. By great luck I have an even earlier recording of another transmission where the sound is all right.

Thanks for the replies and I agree these are terrific films that I don't recall being shown on terrestrial TV for ages

Default Inspector Hornleigh

I believe Alistair Sim made 3 movies as Inspector Hornleigh ----"Inspector Hornleigh" 1038 ---"Inspector Hornleigh on holiday" 1939 ---and "Inspector Hornleigh goes to it " 1940 ---- any help in tracking them down ? Allen D.

Gordon Harker played the Inspector - Sim was the sidekick.

The films were on CH4 during the 90's so hopefully someone out there will have copies.

Very well indeed and if you go to IMB you will se that all 3 films score extremely high marks for films of this period and genre. As Sim and Harker are 2 of my favourite actors it is a real treat so see them together.

They're well worth tracking down, 3 excellent comedy-thrillers, I'd go so far as to say Harker outshines Sim at this early stage of his career.
